Diesel Fleet Mechanic

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing necessary repairs and maintenance on warehouse-related equipment, including pallet jacks, highlifts, and forklifts, ensuring that machinery is available for warehouse operations. The role involves performing Preventive Maintenance (PM), maintaining repair logs, ensuring safety compliance, and managing company tools and equipment. Additionally, light maintenance duties such as replacing light bulbs, painting, and equipment repairs are also part of the responsibilities.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires the ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and moving equipment, using tools, and working in a warehouse environment. Employees will need to follow safety guidelines and work with machinery and tools regularly.

Qualifications:

• Education/Training: High School education or equivalent preferred; additional mechanic training or trade school degree preferred.
• Related Experience: A minimum of six months of previous mechanic experience required.
• Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Knowledge of equipment repair and operation
  • Able to repair and overhaul warehouse equipment
  • Welding ability preferred
  • Basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
  • Able to work with little direct supervision
