Collision Technical Trainer

Job Summary

Tesla is seeking a curious, engaging, and driven Collision Technical Training Instructor to join the Collision Learning & Development (L&D) team. In this role, you will teach instructor-led courses to collision center teammates. Course topics will include mechanical systems, electrical systems, trim, structural and cosmetic repair, welding, bonding, and riveting applications.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging instructor-led training on mechanical systems, aluminum and steel welding, structural repair, and paint-less dent repair.
• Train and develop Collision Technicians on the inspection, repair, and service of Tesla vehicles, using methods, techniques, parts, tools, and materials for maintenance and repair.
• Ensure that programs and processes are developed, assessed, communicated, and administered in compliance with Tesla's objectives.
• Assist with operations including inventory management, vehicle handling, room setup, service center contacts, phone calls, scheduling, tool and equipment maintenance, and student data tracking.
• Effectively handle multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet project deadlines.
• Comply with all Tesla safety rules, guidelines, and standards. Operate a variety of hand, power, and shop tools. Work independently with limited supervision.
• Understand and comply with federal, state, and local regulations affecting body shop operations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of collision industry experience; training experience preferred.
• Certificate from a vocational school in Collision Repair preferred.
• Advanced experience with aluminum and steel joining methods, including welding, riveting, and bonding.
• Proven ability to structure and deliver effective demonstrations and instruction sessions.
• Proficiency with dedicated and universal frame equipment.
• High proficiency in written and spoken English; strong communication skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
• Maintain professional integrity and appearance as a Collision Repair Program Trainer.
• Valid driver's license preferred.
